Fashion Muse: Olivia Palermo

Ha nel viso una raffinatezza di altri tempi, un corpo minuto e longilineo e un temperamento (molto) snob che ricorda Blair di Gossip Girl (si mormora che gli autori del telefilm si siano ispirati proprio a lei per creare il personaggio!). Ma quello che ha colpito della “socialite” più chiaccherata degli ultimi tempi dopo averla conosciuta su Mtv con “The City”, è il suo grande senso per lo stile. Perfettamente a suo agio su un paio di Charlotte Olympia tacco 14, non disdegna le ballerine esclusivamente firmate French Sole (le ha di ogni colore!), adora Topshop e riesce a mixare Zara con Valentino, senza rinunciare alle sue (due!) Birkin di Hermes. Adora le clutch in ogni forma e colore e ha una collezione di gilet in pelliccia che riesce ad indossare più volte rendendoli sempre perfetti. In un look ritiene più importanti gli accessori degli abiti e le piace indossare vistosi anelli sulle mani sempre fresche di smalto rosso che, assieme ai capelli perfetti, sono la sua firma in qualsiasi abbinamento. Ama Londra, ma è cresciuta nell'Upper East Side e ora vive nel quartiere Tribeca, dove spesso passeggia senza mollare un secondo il suo BlackBerry.  

She has an old-time sophisticated face, a little but long-limbed body and a (very) snob temper, which reminds Blair of Gossip Girl (it is rumoured that the authors of the show have been inspired by her to create Blair's own character!). But above all, after having meet her on Mtv “The City”, the most chatted socialite of these times striked us with her great sense of style. Perfectly at home on a 14 inches pair of Charlotte Olympia, she appreciates also ballet shoes, exclusively by French Sole (she has them in every colour!), she loves Topshop and she's able to mix Zara with Valentino, without sacrificing her (two!) Hermés Birkin. She likes clutch bags in every shape and colour and she has a fur vest's collection that is able to wear several times without being banal. She thinks accessories are more important than clothes in an outfit and she loves wear flashy rings on her always fresh red nail polished hands that, along with everytime perfect hair, are her signature in any combination. Grew up on the Upper East Side, she hearts London and now she lives in the Tribeca neighborhood, where you can find her hanging around always with her Blackberry in hands.

 

 

Personalmente adoro Olivia Palermo e ho deciso che fosse lei a dover inaugurare il primo post sulle “Fashion Muse”, rubrica che periodicamente aggiornerò per farvi capire i mie gusti in fatto di outfit.

What about mixing leopard with studs?

Prendete due delle più grosse "manie" delle ultime stagioni. Spargetele qua e là su scarpe e borse. Spalmatele su micro tubini e maxi gonne che sfiorano le caviglie. Sporcateci le maniche di un trench o una maxi sciarpa da arrotolare al collo. Mixatele assieme (se avete il coraggio!) per creare un effetto di sicuro impatto..e Il gioco è fatto! Dalle passerelle di Balmain, Dolce&Gabbana e Valentino fino ad arrivare nel reparto accessori di Zara ed H&M, borchie e stampa leopardo hanno  invaso i nostri armadi e sono diventate (quasi) indispensabili per dare un tocco sexy-rock all'outfit più banale. Vi basta una micro pochette, un paio di converse "alla Gienchi", una pelliccia ecologica o un bracciale scovato in un mercatino punk per arricchire anche il semplice binomio jeans+tshirt. Io personalmente adoro questo trend usato con parsimonia in qualche accessorio che lascia il segno. E voi che ne pensate? Aspetto i vostri pareri! Un bacio a tutte!

Take two of the biggest "obsessions" of recent seasons. Spread them here and there on shoes and handbags. Rub them on micro dresses and maxi ankle-lenght skirts. Dirt the sleeves of a trenchcoat or a big scarf rolled around the neck. Mix them together (if you dare it!) to create a strong effect.. and that's it!From Balmain, Valentino and Dolce & Gabbana runaways to Zara and H&M accessories department, studs and leopard print overran our closets and have become (almost) necessary to give a sexy-rock touch at the most simple outfit. You only need a micro-clutch, a pair of "Gienchi style" Converse, a faux fur or a punk-rock cuff discovered in a market to enrich even the simple  t-shirt+jeans combination. I personally love this trend dole-out in some accessories that leaves the mark in an outfit. And you, what do you think? I'm waiting for your opinions! Kisses to all!

Autumn wishlist

Un paio di pumps rosso fuoco per affrontare le giornate più grigie, tanti tanti cappelli in lana e a tesa larga pronti a scaldare l'inverno, una gonna asimmetrica di uno stilista ancora sconosciuto, un maxi anello con pietra blu, un paio di presuntuose scarpe argento un po' disco anni '80 e un po' astronauta metropolitana, una mini clutch preziosa da tenere in una mano, i biker boots borchiati di Ash, un blazer bianco super elegante da smorzare con i jeans o gli shorts in pelle, la coco duffel di Alexander Wang e un pull di lana enorme(possibilmente arricchito da grosse trecce). Seppure questo Settembre sia deciso a regalarci ancora temperature estive, le settimane della moda, le pagine di Vogue e le vetrine allestite con le nuove collezioni, mi hanno fatto venire voglia di autunno e di cose nuove. Ecco allora che sul mio Macbook è comparsa la cartella "wishlist", riempita di tutte quelle cose che fanno tanta voglia di shopping autunnale. Fatemi sapere cosa c'è nella vostra e un buon inizio settimana a tutte voi!

A pair of bright red pumps to face most grey days, many many wide-brimmed and wool hats ready to warm the winter, an asymmetrical skirt of a yet unknown designer, a giant ring with a blue stone, a pair of silver shoes a little bit 80s and a bit underground spacewoman, a precious one-hand little clutch, studded biker boots by Ash, a super stylish white blazer to smooth out with a pair of jeans or leather shorts, the Alexander Wang coco duffel bag and a huge wool pull (possibly enriched with thick braids). Although this September is going to give us still summer temperatures, fashion weeks, Vogue's pages and shops fitted with new collections, made me want fall season to come and buy new things. Then, on my Macbook has appeared a folder named "wishlist", filled with all those things that give us fall shopping desire. Let me know what about yours and have a good start of the week!
